Well here I go again. Apparently I learn something from my monthly failures, though I shouldn’t say that after my highly commended last month. These monthly competitions are critical in getting your name up on the board for photographer of the year. I have a 3rd place in Monochrome to defend and so far I am way off the pace.

I thought I would enter my favourite x2 from my Low-Key workshop and also I had a great shoot with Sando and I love some of the images from that evening. So I thought I would stick a couple of his in for good measure giving a nice balance of x2 colour x2 black and white with 2 studio and x2 location.

I feel the x2 studio portraits are strong, the one of George being the strongest in my opinion. With regards to Sandro’s images the “lamp post one is superb but I am struggling to categorise the image. Is it a monochrome and be measured against landscapes and finer or is it a portrait environmental? I love the other portrait as well. The narrow lighting does it for me. He’s asked for a print to send home to Sardinia to his Mum….Bless!!

Update!!

I’m thrilled to have been awarded a Highly commended by SWPP for featured image of George. That is a fantastic achievement and a strong indication I am pushing hard in the right direction. I was in my opinion my strongest image submission this month……………Still hunting for Gold.
